A new vision and inspiration came to the Alliance from
participants from Burma, China, India, Korea, Sri Lanka and elsewhere across the region. They
brought their insights and experience from countries which have been torn apart by conflict, seen
mass migrations of people, experienced profound natural disasters and experienced rapid economic growth alongside severe poverty.
