Goal
To raise awareness in our Groups and the wider community about the importance of clean water and sanitation and the benefits of LifeStraws, and to raise funds to buy LifeStraws to use in times of Emergency in the Asia/Pacific Region.
LifeStraws are portable water filters that effectively remove all bacteria and parasites responsible for causing common diarrhoeal diseases. They do not require electrical power or spare parts and can be carried around for easy access to safe and clean water.
Activity
Groups undertake various awareness-raising and fundraising activities for LifeStraws. Some activities have included movie nights, face painting at church, cake stalls and car washes.
Outcomes
An increased awareness on issues relating to clean water and the prevention of diseases in places where Natural Disasters have occurred.
