Sharing learning
Across the world, churches are tackling poverty, responding to humanitarian crises and caring for creation in many varied ways. There is a great deal of experience and expertise across the Anglican Communion.
Sharing this learning, knowledge and wisdom so that others can benefit is one of the key ways the Anglican Alliance delivers its role of equipping and inspiring the worldwide Anglican family to work for a world free of poverty and injustice and to safeguard creation.
We facilitate the sharing of learning in a number of ways:
We bring people together in person or online. Examples include:
- In-person and online consultations on safe migration and human trafficking; asset based church and community transformation; disaster response and resilience; the Covid-19 pandemic.
- Convening the global Anglican Covid-19 task force.
- Hosting thematic webinars.
- Study tours.
- The Resilience Course and Partners in Response and Resilience.
We write reports to capture key learning. These include:
- Asset-Based Church & Community Transformation in Asia Report of the consultation held in Yangon, Myanmar 1-5 July 2019.
- Our anti-human trafficking and safe migration reports (see links on this page).
- Building Hope Together: Anglican Communion responses to the Covid-19 pandemic.
We create resources and contribute to others’. Examples include:
- Agents of Change.
- The Contextual Bible Studies resource Reimagining our World Together.
- The Freedom Framework.
- Pastors and Disasters.
Through this website.
We also connect with external partners and share learning in other fora, taking Anglican experience into a wider sphere. Examples include:
- Participating in the World Health Organization’s Covid-19 faiths’ community of practice.
- Contributing to the Joint Learning Initiative on different areas of our work.
- Contributing to policy papers and statements, such as for COP26 and the UN’s Commission on Population and Development.

I have not done any of these activities before; this is all new to me and I have found it very interesting. I will be able to use my learning in my current role as the program coordinator for the seven church partners in Vanuatu.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and it is helpful.
We have already asked our churches to put in place hand washing facilities and also have them in schools which will open in two weeks. We are already doing it in our diocesan office. We have been helping people during church services to have more understanding of Ebola so they can prevent. We have asked also not to shake hands during peace exchange in the service.
Our team recently gathered motorbike taximen to let them understand about Ebola as they are first to be with customers from different places.
Please, share whatever you can and we’ll appreciate it to save lives. Thanks for support and prayers.
