Freedom Year 2018: November

Theme: Policy

Churches can speak out and make a difference.  We can advocate to governments on having effective policies and legislation.  There is also a lot we can do as individuals to change our own practices and influence the way the world works.  For example modern slavery is prevalent in many supply chains.  Where we buy our day to day items matters.

Activities

Slavery Footprint

Take the survey at www.slaveryfootprint.org and find out how the things you might buy may be made by people trapped in modern slavery.

Buy Slave-Free

Find out which companies you can buy from that have transparent supply chains and are slave-free.

For example this website lists companies in the United States that are fair trade certified: http://www.endslaverynow.org/act/buy-slave-free/slave-free-companies

Focus on: The Pacific

This month churches in the Pacific region will be sharing on their work and how people are coming together to combat human trafficking.
