At a time when progress on gender equality is under increasing pressure globally, the Anglican
Alliance is committed to Gender Justice as an integral part of its mission. Across the
Communion, women and girls continue to face discrimination, violence and unequal access to
opportunity, making this work both necessary and urgent.
From May 2026, Mandy Marshall will take up a consultancy position with the Anglican Alliance
to lead and develop the charity’s work in Gender Justice, building on her contribution in recent
years.
In taking up this post, Mandy concludes her previous part-time secondment role to the Anglican
Consultative Council (ACC), where she worked to support the Safe Church Commission and as
a Link Director for both the Anglican Women and Family Networks.
The ACC remains fully committed to the work of Safe Church and will be recruiting for a
Safeguarding Lead, a new role encompassing work with the Anglican Communion Safe Church
Commission and broader safeguarding responsibilities for the ACC.
The ACC will also continue to support the work of the Anglican Women’s and Family Networks
respectively.
The Director of the Anglican Alliance, Rob Dawes, said: ‘Mandy Marshall has been a dedicated
and consistent campaigner on issues of Gender Justice. We look forward to her consultancy
work with the Anglican Alliance as we continue to campaign for a world where women and
men, girls and boys can live in equal and mutually supportive relationships.’
The Secretary General of the Anglican Communion, the Rt Revd Anthony Poggo said: ‘‘The
Anglican Alliance brings together Anglicans in development, relief and advocacy. Their projects
and work in Gender Justice are vital as churches across the Communion work together for a
more equal world. We wish Mandy every success in her new role and thank her for everything
she has done with the ACO as Link Director to the Safe Church Commission and other Anglican
Networks.’
