Some of the students will join this week’s launch of the programme at Lambeth Palace by Skype. They are are the first to start the programme, the second group in Mbeere, Kenya had their orientation programme last weekend.
The projects being planned by the groups in Chipata, Solwezi and Lusaka include work to improve water and sanitation, literacy, skills empowerment, and support for widows and widowers. One innovative proposal is for a financially sustainable community ambulance which is a motorbike with a carriage attached that can take goods to market to get a sustainable income stream.
Students at the orientation sessions wrote prayers for their projects – some of them are listed below. The picture on the homepage shows the students in Chipata at their orientation session with Tania Nino from the Anglican Alliance office in London.
